Phaige update 01 · October 2026
PoC complete.
Our team is growing.
We have completed our PoC-to-Go project, established a working phage-isolation pipeline, and are adding people and commercial expertise to support the next stage.

Welcome to Phaige’s first update. We are developing a service to help researchers and biotechnology companies find and characterise bacteriophages: viruses that infect bacteria. Here is what has moved forward over recent weeks.
01 / The pipeline
From proof of concept to a working pipeline
Our PoC-to-Go project is complete. We now isolate and source more than 100 phages per week. Characterisation follows this stage, and we are continuing to increase capacity.
Customer interviews and pilot discussions indicate early interest in phage sourcing and characterisation. The next commercial step is to translate that interest into clearly defined projects.

Seeing the positive responses
Two example runs from our lab portal show how bacterial growth changes over time. Positive sample responses are highlighted in coral, with one example labelled on each plot.
Each line represents one well. These plots retain the lab portal’s relative-growth scale, five-read smoothing and first-20-hour window. The August plot shows 95 of the plate’s 96 wells, matching the portal view.
“Positive” means a candidate-phage response under the portal’s analysis rules, not a verified isolate. These assay examples are separate from our current >100 phages/week isolation and sourcing figure.
02 / The people
Welcome, Sol and Maja
Sol Søgaard and Maja Andersen are joining the Phaige team. They will work part time on running our phage-isolation and characterisation pipeline, adding hands-on capacity as we develop the service.
They will join Ida and Julia, who helped run the pipeline during the PoC project and supported market outreach.

03 / Commercial direction
Sharpening our commercial direction
We are working with student consultants from Copenhagen Business School through Millennial Consulting. The project covers market and competitor analysis, a review of our business plan and funding readiness, and targeted outreach to potential customers, partners, and investors.
The work will conclude with a practical implementation roadmap to help us prioritise the opportunities ahead.
- 01Understand the market
- 02Refine the business plan
- 03Develop targeted outreach
04 / What’s next
Next up: InnoExplorer
We have been invited to pitch for InnoExplorer in Aarhus on 2 November 2026. We look forward to presenting our progress and plans for the next phase of development.

05 / How you can help
Help us reach the right people
We would welcome introductions to phage-therapy developers and research teams interested in discussing their phage sourcing and characterisation needs.
